AWARDS:: Computer Science Department recognizes Andrei Escartin and Bryan Jefferson as outstanding students of 2012.


Andrei Escartin is a CS/Mathematics major. Andrei's academic achievements include Eagles award at Eastern High School in Louisville, dean's list recognition at Jefferson County Community College in 2009 and 2010, and chancellor's list recognition at IU Southeast in fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters. Currently, Andrei is an applications programmer intern at Samtec Industries in New Albany, Indiana. Besides his internship and his full course load, he serves as a lab assistant for computer science lower division courses helping others.

Bryan Jefferson is a CS/Information Systems major with a minor in Business. He has a 4.0 GPA and has done excellent work in every class he's attended. Bryan Currently works as a Data Analyst for Amerihealth Mercy Family of Companies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bryan's academic achievements include chancellor's list recognition at IU Southeast. On a personal note, Bryan is an ordained elder in the Seventh-Day Adventist church.

  • Job search - We have had a few students receive job offers as a result of attendence in the past. SLIS students are invited to attend the School of Informatics and Computing Career Fair. It will be held at the Bloomington Convention Center this year - but a shuttle bus from the IMU (Indiana Memorial Union) will run regularly throughout the hours of the fair. Even if you are not yet graduating - this is a good opportunity to talk with employers, to prepare your resume, to dress professionally, and to begin that job search process.
